Breaking News: Serious Critical Wreck South of Cottonwood

Around 3:30 am units from Cottonwood Fire and Cottonwood Rescue responded to a report of a wreck with entrapment just south of Cottonwood near Waddle Road. The driver was pinned inside the vehicle and the vehicle was on it’s side against a tree. Dothan Fire was requested for mutual aid, Engine 4, Truck 1 and Battalion 1 all responded. Extraction took awhile due to the amount of damage and the severity of the entrapment. The driver was alert the entire time, Air Heart was requested and airlifted the driver to the a local hospital. The cause of the crash is under investigation by Trooper Allen with the Alabama State Troopers.
