Burglar Busted, Another Sought

A Crestview man suspected in multiple burglaries in Okaloosa County was arrested today by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office following an attempted break-in in the Wright area north of Fort Walton Beach around 11:20 a.m.

23-year old Andre Lamar Belton of 2365 Barbaree Drive faces multiple charges. Belton was taken into custody Friday morning following a report of two men trying to kick in a door at a home on Schneider Drive. Deputies responding to the scene chased the suspects’ car until the two men bailed out near the intersection of Denton Boulevard and Mayflower Avenue. Belton was captured. Deputies are actively seeking the second suspect.
