On 9-13-15 at approximately 10:20 a.m. the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call of a reported burglary in progress on Hwy 69 in the Dellwood area. The owner passed away several years ago and the caller, who is his son, is the caretaker of the property.

The caretaker was at the residence earlier in the morning, but left for a short time. When he returned, he found a black Toyota Corolla in the yard with the doors open. The hood was still hot and there were cold drinks in the cup holders. Inside the vehicle were several items belonging to his deceased father. He maintained visual surveillance on the open front door of the residence as he awaited a Deputy to arrive.

Deputies established a perimeter and called for the K-9 tracking teams from both JCI and ACI. While waiting for their arrival, a Deputy observed two male subjects run into a wooded area behind a residence at the corner of Blue Springs Rd. and Old School Lane.

One of the subjects, Adrian Todora, surrendered without further incident. A check of his person revealed the keys to the vehicle parked in the yard of the burglarized home.  A short time later the second subject was taken into custody by the ACI K-9 tracking team. He was identified as John R. Davis.

In a post-Miranda interview, both subjects admitted to entering the residence and removing items. A washer, dryer, stove, and a large cedar chest were recovered from Todora’s residence on Wynn St in Marianna. Numerous other items including jewelry, personal effects, and household items were found in the car that they drove to the residence.  Total value of the stolen items was estimated between $1300 and $1500.  All of the property was recovered and will be returned to the family.  Both subjects were charged with Burglary and Grand Theft. They were booked into the Jackson County Correctional Facility to await first appearance.
