On 10/20/2016 at approx. 4:44 am the Marianna Police Department received a report of a burglary alarm at the Friendly Corner Sports Bar located at 4258 St. Andrews Street. Upon officers arrival they observed that the front door of the business was open.
Officers insured that no one was inside the business and began to check the nearby area for anyone fleeing the scene. Officers were able to locate a subject on Clay Street that fled Law Enforcement upon sight. The subject was observed throwing items to the ground as he ran east on Clay Street, crossing Borden Street and then entering the wood line.
Both K-9 tracking teams from Apalacha Correctional Institute and Jackson Correctional Institute were contacted. Once both teams arrived on scene a scent track was picked up heading East on Clay Street. After a short distance the scent track was lost.
