DOTHAN - HOUSTON COUNTY:  The Houston County Commissioners picked 6 candidates to be interviewed for Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director.

One of the 6 had been fired from his job. And one of the 6 has problems in his current job in working with others. That really left four viable candidates.

One who did not make the cut to be interviewed, perhaps because he lives in Dothan - Houston County.

Well he again the Acting Batallion Chief of the Dothan Fire Department. Just heard him responding to Hampton Inn Fire Alarm.

AS Batallion Chief, he is responsible for the management of the entire Dothan Fire Department in their management and handling of all emergencies. From saving someone’s life, to saving their property. He is in charge of the management the resources.

IT WAS NOT A REAL FIRE - but had the fire alarm at Hampton Inn been a real fire, he would have been in charge of the management of the fire, evacuation of the hotel, getting what resources that were needed, making sure everyone was accounted for and safe, working to save the structure, and making sure all of the fireman were safe.

But according to Mark Sterling Culver, Brandon Shoupe, Jackie Battles, Doug Sinqufield and Curtis Harvey he was not qualified enough to even get a  interview for Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director.

Perhaps it was because he had a local address. Or because these 5 people think anyone who is from Dothan - Houston County is to dumb to be the Dothan - Houston County Emergency Management Director.

And that might be true because we elected them.
