Calhoun County Sheriffs Office Bust Meth Lab

On August 8, 2013 the Calhoun County Sheriffs Office arrested Brian Harmon of Altha, Florida for manufacture of methamphetamine within 1000' of a school. The sheriffs office received information that there was drug activity occurring at the old Smiths grocery store across from Altha Public School. Investigators Todd Wheetley and Jared Nichols made contact with several individuals who are actually residing in the old store. Brian Harmon admitted to manufacturing methamphetamine and surrendered two reaction vessels and other components required to manufacture methamphetamine. It is expected that the case will be enhanced to Trafficking in methamphetamine due to the large amount of meth oil that was recovered however this will be pending lab results. Harmon denied anyone else being involved and was booked into the County Jail. Deputy Zach Whitfield also assisted with the case.
