DOTHAN: At 7:17 PM Dothan Communications Center rolled emergency units to a motor vehicle versus a retaining wall accident at 3100 Montgomery Highway.
A police unit was on the scene within seconds of the accident. Ther person driving the Buicl car was not injured. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling south on Montgonmery Highway, crossed the median, into the parking lot of Coastal Car Wash. As the vehicle entered the parking lot the vehicle took out the display board and crashed into the retaining wall of the car wash.
Dothan Fire Engine 6 ( Napier Field Road ) and Pilcher’s Ambulance was on the scene. The driver is beleived to have some minor medical issues which could have contributed to the accident but scene treatment was refused. The air bags did deploy on the vehicle.
Dothan Police Shift Commander Clark Rice called Traffic Officer Mark Foster to the scene. Police had to make a determination if this was a "public" road accident or a "private property" accident.
Dothan Police is investigating. Dothan Fire checked for any structural damage.
Coastal Car Wash 4 bays are still open. The vacums are still open. The owner of the car wash, Marty Rushing, is enroute to the site to check the damage to the automated car wash to get it back open.
But Coastal Car Wash on Montgomery Highway just outside the circle on the right is open.
