Car vs Prison Van in Baldwin County

BALDWIN COUNTY – A three-vehicle crash today involving a passenger car, a prison van and a commercial vehicle injured 13 people. The crash occurred at approximately 2:10 p.m. on Interstate 65 at the 41 mile marker, which is six miles west of Bay Minette. Xuanhon N. Tang, 61, of Hawkensville, Ga., was injured when the 2006 Chrysler he was driving struck a 2011 Ford van driven by Alfred W. Signorell, 44, of Sebastian, Fla., and a 1997 Kenworth driven by Richard E. Freeman, 43, of Madison, Ga. Tang and a passenger in his vehicle, along with Signorell and a passenger in his vehicle, were transported to North Baldwin Hospital for their injuries. Freeman was not injured.
A total of 12 occupants were in the prison van, including the driver and a transport guard. The 10 prisoners were transported to the Baldwin County Jail. Later, nine of them were transported to the North Baldwin Infirmary. No further information is available for release as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
