ALABAMA:   Your Alabama Legislature is considering a gas tax. That tax would increase your gasoline by 12 cents per gallon.


Your United States President is considering a tax on barrels of oil. That tax, as reported, is $ 10 per barrel for both import and export. That tax will increase your gas by 25 cents per gallon.


Combined by your Alabama Legislature and your President, gas would increase by a total of 37 cents per gallon.


If your Alabama Legislature fails to approve their increase, all over Alabama your County Commission will consider the increase in gas tax.


Houston County Commission Chairman Mark Culver said they have not done a gas tax increase since 1989.


You can have a voice. All over Alabama, United States Senator Sessions, Shelby and others, United States Representative Martha Roby, all members of the Alabama Legislature, all county commissions, voice your feelings.


With gas prices down, all are wanting to get it back up on the backs of people.

In reading the debate on the lottery and electronic bingo, read what they all say. By your having a "choice" to play the lottery or bingo, that is a tax on the poor.


But increasing the amount you have to pay for gas, that is OK. WHAT? The poor have to go to work.


There is a choice for lottery and bingo. Do you have a choice on gas?


WOW...at one time I thought the elected officials were stupid. But I really think we are as voters because we allow them to justify with bone headed stupid comments.
