Chairman Mark Blakenship and Dale County Commission Thumbs Nose At Pinckard Residents

PINCKARD:    Dale County Commission Chairman Mark Blakenship and members of the Dale County Commission have turned their noses at the safety of the residents of Pinckard.


At the Pinckard Town Council Meeting on Tuesday, Mayor Fred McNabb told the council the siren used for weather notifications in Pinckard does not work. The Mayor spoke with the Dale County Emergency Management Director concerning the siren. EMA told the Mayor he did not have the funds to repair the siren.


The Mayor told the council the EMA Director spoke to the Dale County Commission Chairman. The Chairman refused to pay the $ 3,000.00 to repair the siren.


The Pinckard Town Council authorized Mayor McNabb to spend the $ 3,000.00 to repair the siren.


The weather sirens are used to alert the residents when a tornado is approaching and a warning is underway.


At least Mayor McNabb and the Pinckard Town Council cares about your safety. Apparently Dale County Commission Chairman Mark Blakenship and the Dale County Commission do not feel your life and safety is worth $ 3,000.00
