Charged with First Degree Theft of Property

On July 29, 2014 the Dothan Police Department responded to 4310 Montgomery Highway in reference to a theft in progress complaint.

 

Upon arrival, officers were told a black male exited the store without paying for a large amount of alcoholic beverages. The suspect used an electric seated shopping-cart owned by the business to carry the stolen merchandise from the property. A description of the suspect was immediately given to officers arriving in the area. Those officers made contact with a subject in the 3000 block of Flynn Road that matched the description of the suspect. The individual was identified as the person who took the merchandise and taken into custody.

 

Curtis Wymes was arrested and charged with first degree Theft of Property. The property taken was valued at over $5,000.00 and his arrest now brings this case to a close.

 

• Curtis Wymes, black male, 25 years of age, of Fain Street was arrested and charged with first degree Theft of Property. A bond amount has been set at $15,000.00.

 

All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
