This afternoon state representative Paul Lee and Senator Harri Ann Smith presented a check for $4500.00 to help pay for the new playground at the school.
Morris Slingluff is a unique school; it has students that have special needs and some are in wheel chairs. Unfortunately the current playground facilities do not have accommodates for many of the special needs students.
Recently the school was awarded grants from the Houston County Foundation for $10,000.00 and the Education Foundation for $2,500.00.
They have received donations from Representatives Dexter Grimsley and Donnie Chesteen and several members of the Dothan City Commission.
Today's money will help make the dream a reality for these special needs students to be able to have a playground they can play safely on.
