Chief Greg Benton Joins The DSI Team as Director of Healthcare Services
DSI Security Services is pleased to announce that Dothan Police Chief Greg Benton will be joining our team upon his retirement from the City. Chief Benton will assume the newly created position of Director of Healthcare Services. In this new role, Chief Benton will be responsible for directing DSI’s healthcare services in the area of technology and uniformed security officers. He will also conduct security assessments at DSI customer locations and will provide training in areas such as Active Shooter response and dealing with combative patients. Chief Benton will also oversee the company’s regulatory compliance department ensuring that all officers are properly licensed and trained in adherence to state regulations and internal DSI standards.
Chief Benton brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the DSI team, having spent over 25 years with the Dothan Police Department, serving as its Chief for the last 5. Chief Benton is a graduate of Troy University and the FBI National Academy. He is a certified NRA firearms instructor and holds numerous other law enforcement certifications. Chief Benton has also been the recipient of countless awards during his career such as the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center’s Keith Connelly Award (Given to the top instructor in the program), and Alabama Law Enforcement Officer of the year.
DSI Chairman of the Board Alan Clark welcomed the opportunity to add Chief Benton to the team: “DSI Security Services currently provides services to over 30 Hospitals and Healthcare Facilities across the country, and adding a Director of Healthcare services is an important step for our company, and more importantly, our current and future customers. We look forward to Chief Benton bringing the same level of management skill, professionalism, and dedication to our organization that served the City of Dothan well for so many years.” Benton will assume his new role with DSI on May 4, 2015.
