Circuit Judge Sentences Man to DEATH

HOUSTON COUNTY AL:    This morning Twentieth Judicial Circuit Judge Mike Conaway sentenced Jerry Jerome Smith to DEATH.


Arrested in 1996 by Retired Dothan Police Captain David Jay, Smith was arrested, tried and convicted of Capital Murder.


At this time I do not have all of the facts of the murder case to report.


Today was sentencing day on multiple cases before Judge Conaway. The Judge handled Smith first. After witnessing a Judge sentence a man to death, all others in the courtroom started sweating.


Some attorneys had to explain, you are not charged with a death penalty offense, relax.


The Smith case has been on going since 1996.
