Though the City and County work together most of the time, there’s still a little rivalry between the two government bodies. We want to exploit that rivalry and so we created a hot wing eating contest for the groups to square off and go head to head. Friday, September 26th at 7pm at the Man Cave at PorktoberQue, the City will face the County. 10 dozen of Buffalo Wild Wings hottest wings will be brought in for the match up, and the first team done wins the bragging rights.
The teams are:
Houston County:
Mark Culver, Houston County Commission Chairman
Patrick Davenport, Houston County Probate Judge
Brandon Shoupe, Houston County Commissioner District 4 Elect
Barkley Kirkland, Houston County Engineer
Jim Jordon, Houston County Assistant Engineer and former Webb Mayor
Dothan City:
Mayor Mike Schmitz
Kevin Dorsey, Commissioner
Albert Kirkland, Commissioner
Hamp Baxley, Commissioner
Chris Watson (DPD)
Who will win and who will leave crying? You can watch the fun and cheer on (or jeer on) your favorite team Friday Night September 26. There’s no cost to watch the hot wings contest. Admission to all the fun at PorktoberQue is $3 per person, kids 6 and under are free. Friday night there is also 2 stages of entertainment, Ultimate Air Dogs dock diving competition, the Man Cave, Bavarian Challenge obstacle course, inflatable bounce houses for the little ones, and polka dancing also included in your admission. It will be a fun night for the whole family! Come out to PorktoberQue at the Houston County Farm Center next weekend and celebrate Oktoberfest and BBQ in Dothan!
