MORRIS MOUNTIAN: This past Sunday Ricky Beck and I went to Morris Mountain in Delta Alabama. The purpose of the trip was to join a Georgia group in a day of jeep riding through the hills and rocks.
This week an official in the courthouse asked me what was with the jeep articles. In an effort to make me forget politics and issues surrounding politics, and to forget the lying politicians, Ricky Beck has gotten me interested the jeeps and jeep adventures. He has invited me to join several jeep rides.
In the rides I have been amazed at what jeeps will do. What they will go through and climb over.
This was my second trip to Morris Mountain. The last trip Beck went to climb a huge rock area. I was a spectator and did not take the ride up. My choice was to watch. Well Beck broke the drive shaft on the jeep.
This Sunday he was determined to give it a try again. I wish the pre ride event would have been recorded. Beck went to the rock and had a serious conversation prior to his attempt to climb the rock.
Then time came again for his second attempt. Again I made the choice to watch and tape. Beck’s Jeep is the four door light green jeep. He was successful in the climb.
The Jeep rides are fun. While an expensive hobby I have been surprised at the large number of people from all walks of life into the jeeps. They are a great group of people who jump in and help each other.
The club in Dothan is "Alabama Extreme Jeeps". You can follow them on FACEBOOK.
I am the Jeep passenger and not the driver. I will leave my adventures for now to riding and not to driving!
I do have a Mercedes of Dothan Jeep which was bought used. I bought from Paul Padgett because you can trust these guys and the inspection of used vehicles. Paul and the gang make sure the used products they sell pass a thorough inspection before they sell them.
If looking for a fun hobby where you can be around a group of fine people of all ages, I would encourage you to get a Jeep and join the Alabama Extreme Jeeps.
