     Cody Watson Hayes, age 17, of Webb passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014 at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham after an 8 month battle with leukemia.



     Born May 23, 1997 in Dothan to Frank and Alicia Smith Hayes, Cody was a Senior at Ashford High School. Cody was a member of Watermark Church in Ashford and was active in sports at Ashford High School where he played football and baseball. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mud riding in his Jeep and Alabama football.



    Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Billy and Alice Smith and Espey and Irell Hayes.


     Cody is survived by his parents, Frank and Alicia Hayes, several aunts, uncles and cousins; and numerous other relatives and friends.


     Funeral services will be held at 4 PM, Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Watermark Church in Ashford with Reverend Todd Thorpe officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Springs Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Watermark Church, Sunday, June 15, 2014 from 2 PM until service time.


     Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Gray, Bryant Roney, Blake Coatney, Hunter Harper, JoJo Seale, Alec Avery, Dalan Tice, and Zack Moore.



     Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the Ashford High Baseball Team and the Ashford High Football Team.
