This morning around 9:00 AM the Cottonwood Police department was dispatched to a report of Power lines down in the area of Cottonwood Road and Phillips Road in Cottonwood. Cottonwood Police arrived on scene and advised the HC Dispatcher to get Alabama Power and Comcast enroute due to the road (Cottonwood Road) being completely blocked. This is a state hwy and they don’t stay shut down long.
About an hour later Alabama Power crews were on the scene working on their lines, still no Comcast. For the next 2 hours the Director of Public Safety for Cottonwood spoke to several people at the Comcast Hotline, Still no Comcast. Just before noon I spoke to the director and personally went to the Comcast office on South Oates Street and spoke to the operation manager. I informed her of the situation and advised her they were talking about cutting the line in order to get Cottonwood Road reopened. She made a phone call and took the number of the Director of Public Safety in Cottonwood and stated that someone would be calling him. After another hour (a total of 4 in half hours) the decision to remove the line was made (STILL NO COMCAST). No one even took the initiative to make a phone call to let Cottonwood know if they were even coming. So the line was cut the road reopened. Now it’s time to explain why NO one on the Comcast service had cable, internet, or phone…..
