Conference scheduled for prevention education

A prevention education conference is set for Thursday and Friday in Dothan’s Covenant Methodist Church. The gathering is sponsored by The Prevention Project.
Registration will run from 11:30-noon Thursday. Andrea Godfrey will lead the afternoon session on beating burnout.
Friday’s registration will run from 7:30-8 a.m. The day’s speakers include Derek Osborn, LPC, Drug Trends, 8 a.m. to noon; Chip Garrett, MA LPC, Suicide Prevention, 1:30-3:30 p.m.; and Jason Ballard, special agent, Senior Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, State Bureau of Investigation, Too Many Choices (Teens and Alcohol, Sexting and Bullying) 3:40 to five.
Continuing education units are being offered through Troy University’s Continuing Education Center. One must attend the full seminar to receive CEU credits. Payment is available online at www.preventionedconference.weebly.com; by check or money order. On the days of the conference, only debit/credit cards will be accepted, no cash or checks. Costs are $50 for Thursday and $75 for Friday, or $110 for both.
Accommodation for vendors is also being made available. There is a $40 fee for tables.
