Two months after the Talladega City Council discussed banning saggy pants, another Alabama city, Dadeville, has begun considering the same thing.
The Alexander City Outlook reports Dadeville council members this week discussed drafting an ordinance that would outlaw sagging pants.
"It is getting bad around here," the newspaper quoted Councilman Frank Goodman as saying. "I am ashamed to see all the sagging pants around here."
"It has been all over the news for awhile now," Council member Randy Foster added. "Several cities have passed ordinances on it."
The issue came up in Talladega in June when resident Paul Johnson asked the council to outlaw sagging pants.
"I want to teach my granddaughter what's right, but we can't do that if (sagging) is what she sees in public. If we don't do something, it's just going to get worse," Johnson said.
Councilman Donnie Miller said the council discussed such an ordinance in the past.
