A court document filed late Tuesday is asking Houston County Circuit Judge Michael Conaway to recuse himself from hearing a case involving the group that oversees bingo at Center Stage Alabama.

Conway, in a September 7 ruling, declined to remove himself from presiding over the case involving the seizure of more than 600 electronic bingo machines and $283,000 in cash during a July raid at Center Stage.

In the most recent filing, attorneys for the Houston Economic Development Authority question the relationship between Conway and Dothan businessmen John  Watson and John Downs.  It claims the men, both gambling opponents, influenced then governor Bob Riley to appoint Conaway to the bench.

WDHN has obtained a copy of the filing.  You can read it here.
