Covenant Hospice Offers Volunteer Opportunities

Covenant Hospice is seeking individuals who are interested in providing support to patients and families served by Covenant Hospice. A volunteer training will be held from 9:00 a.m. at the Dothan Covenant Hospice branch office, located at 104 Rock Bridge Road . The training is free and open to the public. Volunteer Training will provide an overview of hospice care, including Covenant’s programs and services and volunteer opportunities. Patient and Family volunteers assist patients and their families by providing companionship, sitting with patients for a caregiver break, assisting with small tasks, running errands or providing transportation. **Please call Amy Balkcom to reserve your spot or get more information, 334-794-7847.

Covenant Hospice is excited to grow our spiritual care and support volunteer program that serves our patients in Barbour, Coffee, Dale, Geneva , Henry, Houston and Pike counties. Spiritual support given by trained Covenant Hospice volunteers may include reading the Bible or other religious texts with patients, praying with a patient and family, listening to religious music or television programs, attending patient visitations or funerals, and supporting patients and families of varying faiths during times of spiritual need. **Please call Amy Balkcom to reserve your spot or get more information, 334-794-7847.
