Crestview Teen Crashes Stolen Car Trying to Elude Deputies

A Crestview teen crashed a stolen car into a tree near Laurel Hill Wednesday while trying to elude Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies.
15-year old D’Aaron Chance Taylor was not injured. A deputy spotted the teen driving a stolen 2016 Toyota Highlander around 6:30 last night on 2nd Avenue near the intersection of Still Mill Creek Road.
When he tried to stop the car, Taylor sped off at high speed and ran two stop signs without slowing down. He lost control of the car and hit a tree nearly a mile down the road near 2nd Avenue and 8th Street in Laurel Hill.
Taylor admitted stealing the car while burglarizing a vehicle on July 12th. A search of the car
turned up black gloves and a flashlight. Taylor is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude a law enforcement officer and possession of burglary tools.
He faces additional charges of car burglary and theft.
