On August 11, 2016 Dale County Sheriff’s Investigators charged Brieana Farmer with manslaughter for the death of her (9) month old son. On January 11, 2016 Deputies responded to the 200 Blk of Meadow Lane in Daleville in reference to an unresponsive infant. While processing the scene deputies located a small amount of marihuana inside the residence. Investigators continued to work the case pending the toxicology report and final autopsy findings from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences. Based on the final report of death by toxicity, investigators obtained a warrant for manslaughter for the victim’s mother.
Yesterday while attempting to serve the arrest warrant deputies discovered a large and elaborate in-door marihuana grow inside Farmer’s Ozark residence. Investigators secured a search warrant and processed the scene. Investigators have charged Farmer’s boyfriend, Brandon Kirkland, with Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Marihuana 1st. Both Farmer and Kirkland have been booked into the Dale County Jail and are awaiting their 1st appearance hearing. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Dale County District Attorney’s Office, Daleville Police Department and the Ozark Police Department.
