Death Investigation in Jackson County

On 10-18-2014 officers of the Marianna Police Department responded to a report that inmate, Timothy Russell Dozier, had died while in custody at the Jackson County Correction Facility. Dozier was transported to the Jackson County Hospital Emergency Room by Jackson County Fire and Rescue. All efforts to revive Dozier were unsuccessful. Dozier was transported the Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
Timothy Russell Dozier was a 44 year old resident of Greenwood Florida. At present there are no indications of foul play in this case. The investigation will remain open pending the findings of the Medical Examiner. Next of Kin have been notified of Timothy’s passing.
