Deputies Arrest Two in DeFuniak Springs for Drug Violations

Walton County Sheriff’s Office deputies made two arrests last night while attempting warrant service at 185 E. Toledo Ave., DeFuniak Springs, FL. Deonta Keshawn Smith, 21, of DeFuniak Springs, was wanted by authorities for Failure to Appear. Smith was located at 185 E. Toledo and as he was being searched, deputies found a small bag containing a substance that field tested for crack cocaine. A marijuana cigarette and $970 in cash were also located on Smith. Smith was arrested and charged with possession of crack cocaine with intent to sell/deliver.
While on scene at the residence, deputies also located a marijuana plant under a lighting system, a small amount of marijuana and rolling papers, and a Loritab pill. Michael Allen Lane, 46, who resides at 185 E. Toledo Avenue was arrested as well and charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of marijuana less than 20 grams, and production of marijuana.
Both Smith and Lane were transported and booked into the Walton County Department of Corrections.
