Disturbance Call Lands One in Jail

During the evening hours of June 9, 2016, Officers of the Chipley Police Department responded to the area of Plum Avenue and Shannon Lane in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival of Officers to the scene they were then confronted with two individuals who had been cut with a knife following a confrontation with Joseph Sheffield , 34, of Sneads. Sheffield became involved in an verbal and physical altercation with a female subject which was observed by a second individual who intervened. During the course of the altercation Sheffield cut both subjects with a knife that he had in his possession. Victims suffered injuries of non-life threatening nature.



Sheffield was placed under arrest and charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault with a
deadly weapon.
