(Chipley, FL; March 6, 2014)— The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a call in reference to a domestic disturbance at a residence on Greenhead Road on Wednesday, March 5th.
Wednesday morning, a male suspect drove to a residence in Washington County to see his wife who was staying with friends following an altercation with the suspect early in the week.
The suspect, Randy Ralph Holley, 39 year old white male of Bay County, FL, arrived at the Greenhead Road residence and demanded his wife get into the vehicle he was driving.
A physical scuffle between Holley and his wife ensued. The victim was able to escape Holley, who then reentered his car and began driving erratically around the property. Holley then drove his vehicle directly into the path of another subject who was also at the residence. The subject was able to narrowly escape being hit by Holley’s vehicle. The subject, who was armed with a shotgun, discharged the firearm at Holley’s vehicle striking the driver’s side door.
Holley then left the residence traveling south on Hwy 77.
Investigators, following up on tips from the public, had reason to believe that Holley was in a home on Rolling Pines Road in Washington County. Due to the nature of his crime and working off statements made by Holley to family members that he would “not be taken alive” and threatening the lives of law enforcement officers who attempted to arrest him, WCSO SWAT team was activated and the US Marshal was called in to assist. Holley was not located at the Rolling Pines residence.
Investigators received information that Holley may be in the West Bay area and Bay County Sheriff’s Office was called in to attempt to locate Holley at that point.
Holley was arrested on Thursday, March 6th in Bay County on assault with intent to commit a felony and battery charges.
Additional charges are expected.
