At the 10th annual Tri-State BBQ Festival in Dothan, AL on April 10-11, there will be around 60 teams cooking barbecue for over $11,000 total prize money against competitors such as Myron Mixon, Robby Royal, Edwin Cervantes, and other folks you’ve seen on TV shows on the food channels. But, maybe cooking barbecue isn’t your thing. That’s ok, because there’s other cooking competition you and your family can enter and have fun at!

For kids, there’s the Kids Cook sponsored by Tyndall Federal Credit Union. Kids aged 8-18 can grill hamburgers and win their share of $300 in prize money plus there’s 5 trophies in each age group for the winners. It’s $10 to enter and both a child and a parent will get admission tickets in to the BBQ festival. This competition helps kids understand that cooking isn’t just a necessary life skill, but that it can be fun and enjoyable. Visit http://tristatebbq.com/competition/kids-cook/ for rules, entry form, age group info, etc.
