DOTHAN, Mar 11, 2014 - The Dothan Diamondbacks archery team will be represented by 3 area archers at the National Field Archery Association's Indoor Nationals Championship in Louisville, KY March 14-16 at the Kentucky Convention Center.
Mike Stone, coach of the Dothan Diamondbacks Junior Olympic Archery Development (JOAD) program, and interim president of the Alabama NFAA, will compete in the Professional division. Joe Epperson, assistant coach of the JOAD team will be competing in the men's Senior Division. Louis Epperson, age 11, will compete in the Cub division.
Last year, there were almost 1,400 participants for the three day even. This year, the Louisville tournament will also offer a "Practice with the Pro's" workshop on 3/14 from 4pm-6pm.
Dothan JOAD meets on Saturday mornings from 9am-12pm at the indoor range at Sportsman's Outfitters. Lesson's cost $10 for the 3 hour sessions, and includes range fees. The program is open to children ages 8-18. Equipment is provided for those who do not bring their own.
