Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce President urges TROY graduates to keep learning

DOTHAN—Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce President Matt Parker urged Troy University graduates on Monday to become lifelong learners equipped to make a difference in their communities.
“You are opening the door to a lifetime of learning potential,” Parker said.
Parker delivered the keynote address to TROY graduates during the spring commencement ceremony for the Dothan Campus on Monday, May 18, at the Dothan Civic Center. About 150 students received degrees this spring in Dothan.
Parker told graduates to constantly acquire new skills as the go out into the workforce.
“Change is always inevitable, but growth and knowledge can come with change if you accept it openly and learn from it,” he said.
He urged graduates to use their talents and skills to improve their communities.
“You have been provided an education to enhance the community you live in,” Parker said. “Use your talents.”
As President of the Dothan Area Chamber of Commerce, Parker serves as the chief economic developer for recruiting new business investment and supporting existing industry growth in the Dothan area. He has been professionally involved in community and economic development since 1989.
