Dothan Charged with First Degree Burglary

On December 24, 2012 the Dothan Police Department responded to a residential burglary in progress in the 200 block of Ginnalou Drive. Upon arrival, police learned three suspects forced entry into the home which was occupied at the time and ordered the occupants to the ground at gunpoint. One of the occupants was at the rear of the residence and walked in on the intruders and a struggle over the weapon began. During the struggle, the suspect struck the victim with the weapon which fired a single round. The suspects then fled from the home.
Police received information from witnesses in the area which was used to identify one of the three suspects as Devante Williams. Williams was located and arrested a short time later. Police say the case will remain open and are asking anyone with information about the case or identity of the additional suspects to call the Dothan Police Department or CrimeStoppers 334-793-7000.
· Devante Williams, black male, 22 years of age, of Woods Drive was arrested and charged with First Degree Burglary with bond being established later today. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
