MONTGOMERY: I am LaJolla Restaurant and Bar in Montgomery Alabama. The Dothan Commission is meeting in Montgomery at this Eastchase Mall Restaurant and Bar.
I was not invited to the meeting. I did go inside the restaurant.
While inside I ran into Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange. He was sitting in the restaurant at a table with two other men. I walked up to the table.
Strange let me know he knew what the articles I had written. Strange said that he had been in contact with the people on the scene of the Dale County hostage incident. Strange said they did not want him down there but had been in contact. Strange said he did not run to Dale County to get in front of the cameras.
Strange said that I threw out comments about his being in New Orleans and that was simply not true. I informed Strange that I asked the question if he had been in New Orleans. He denied that he was in New Orleans at the Super Bowl at the time of young 5 year old Ethan being held hostage in the bunker.
Strange said he did not respond to people that put out half truths. I informed Strange that when Center Stage was raided I asked for a press interview with him. He then called a press conference in Montgomery and we never received notice.
I then spoke to his office requesting an interview since we asked for one before he ever held a press conference, we were denied.
Strange then said he was not going to talk with people that did not tell the entire story. I quickly informed the Attorney General that when he would not talk with me, then I had to run with the information I had. That if he and his office would not cooperate with information what did he expect.
About that time I started to walk off. Strange made a comment which I did not hear all of. I quickly responded that if he did not want to talk, I did not care. That my job did not depend on people electing me.
So I left.
And yes, members of the Dothan Commission are at a large table eating with the people from our area, legislators, at LaJolla Restaurant and Bar in Montgomery. No, they did not tell any media they were meeting. And no they do not have to. I guess the public will find out what their legislative agenda is AFTER it is to late.
Reporting from Montgomery…in the parking lot of LaJolla Restaurant and Bar. I could not eat because I did not have the money and I was not invited to their meeting…or any other media!
Picuture 1 and 3 are of the restaurant. Picture 2 is Henry County Representative Dexter Grimsley. Picture 4 is where Dothan City Manager Mike West and Commissioners Albert Kirkland, Hamp Baxley and Critt Snellgrove took a break on their trip to LaJolla Restaurant and BAR.
UPDATED @ 8:27 PM
The Dothan Commissioners and Legislators meeting is over. They have left. I am going to McDonald's dollar value meal to eat. I can not afford to eat at these high prices. I think I will just get an order of small fries.
I return inside and give Alabama Attorney General Luther Strange is 3 page hand written letter. I am aware I am only a blogger or whatever. I have just attempted to get some answers to some questions people in my home county have asked. And some questions answered because what he told me at is inauguration and his actions were not consistent.
Anyway, it is 8:36 PM and strange is still in the restaurant. A lot of Alabama Legislative heavy weights have been seen leaving the restaurant. Definitely the restaurant of the legislators and elected officials for fine dining at night.
