The Dothan Education Foundation (DEF) is preparing to host its annual Morris Slingluff Memorial Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held on Monday, June 2nd at the Dothan Country Club. Proceeds from the tournament are directed to grants the DEF offers to Dothan City Schools (DCS) teachers. The DEF has provided over $310,000 through its teacher grant program. Last year $30,000 was awarded for a variety of classroom projects that otherwise would not have been funded. Some of the projects funded last year were a sound system for Dothan High’s Choral Department, new microscopes for the Science Department at Northview High School and an assortment of technological devices throughout entire system. This program encourages teachers to think outside of the box and bring creative ideas into their classroom. Community support in this tournament will continue to foster educational success for our students and grow creative classrooms.
Community and tournament sponsors this year are Michelin North America - Dothan Team, Slingluff United Insurance, Capsouth Partners , the Tom Ziegenfelder Family, as well as numerous golf hole sponsors and team sponsors.
