DOTHAN: Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) Company recently donated $5,000 to the Dothan Education Foundation (DEF). This donation will go towards the work of the Foundation in encouraging community involvement and partnership.

”This grant from ADM Cares allows us to continue successful programs like Adopt-A-School, as well as expand on ways that we can involve the business community in making Dothan City Schools the best they can be,” said Gindi Prutzman, President of Dothan Education Foundation.

The Dothan Education Foundation was founded in 1996 by a group of dedicated community leaders who shared a passion for the importance of public education. The mission began with providing grants to teachers and has grown to encompass other programs and ventures.   In October 2012, the DEF merged with Yes We Can! Dothan and Adopt-A-School and has developed into a true community partnership for public education.  The Dothan Education Foundation’s primary purpose is to strengthen student achievement and motivation, improve classroom instruction and teacher morale, and build community support with the Dothan City Schools.

The donation was given through ADM Cares. ADM Cares is a social investment program that directs funds to initiatives and organizations that drive meaningful social, economic and environmental progress worldwide. The program comprises three distinct focus areas: supporting the responsible development of agriculture, improving the quality of life in ADM communities and fostering employee giving and volunteer activities.
