Dothan, AL—The Dothan Education Foundation (DEF) Board of Directors is proud to announce and welcome
Gindi Prutzman as the new leader of the foundation. Prutzman brings more than two decades of valuable experience to the DEF, including a successful track record in grant-writing and development campaigns.
After obtaining her Masters degree from the University of New Orleans, Prutzman began her career as a middle school music teacher in Greenville, South Carolina. This experience led her to find her love for teaching and helping others. Although she moved from the public school classroom, she has continued teaching in other ways throughout her adult life. Prior to her move to Dothan, Prutzman served as the Development Director for several well-respected non-profit organizations in Greenville, South Carolina. Serving as the Director of Children’s Music and Assistant Director of Children’s Ministries at First United Methodist Church in Dothan for the past 12 years, Prutzman is no stranger in the community.
A familiar face to many Dothan City Schools’ families, Prutzman not only brings valuable skills, but also a personal connection to the DEF’s mission. As a parent of both a Northview High School (NHS) graduate and a current NHS sophomore, Prutzman has been a long-time advocate of Dothan City Schools. This new role will allow her more opportunities to further her support for the school system and contribute to the positive influence that DEF has made on Dothan City Schools.
“We are thrilled to welcome Gindi to the DEF and we look forward to seeing all that she accomplishes. Our organization has grown tremendously in the past several years and we know that new leadership is the prime opportunity for DEF to flourish and continue to make a positive impact on our community and our students,” said DEF Board President, Kandy Groover.
