Dothan Fire Responding To A Structure Fire

DOTHAN: Multiple Dothan Fire Engines ( Engine 9 - Technology, Engine 5 - Eastside, Engine 1 - Central, Truck 1 - Central ) all responding to the reports of a structure fire. The call is 2007 Apricot Street.
In two minutes from dispatch a Dothan Police Officer arrived on the scene. The officer reported no flames visible. Within a minute the officer reported it was food item left on the stove and the fire was out.
At the time communications reported to the responding units what the police officer reported Batallion Chief Kieth Gassiter ordered only one fire engine continue emergency response and all other units continue to respond non emergency. Once a fire engine is on the scene and makes sure nothing spread to the interrior walls of the residence Chief Gassiter will cancel other units.
All residents did evacuate the residence on the orders of the 911 Operators.
Final result - no fire. Residence ventilated for smoke smell. All fire engines returned to service.
