The Dothan High PTO along with the Guidance Department invites high school students and parents in the Dothan community to attend a college and career information night on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Dothan High School in the auditorium located at 1236 South Oates Street.
Parents and students will be able to speak one-on-one from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm with representatives from technical, 2-Year and 4-Year colleges as well as representatives from the military, employment agencies, and business leaders in our community to learn more about their choices for life after high school.
We will hold an assembly at 6:00 pm in the auditorium where our guidance department will give information on applying to college, scholarships, athletics and more. Matt Parker, from the Dothan Chamber of Commerce, will talk about the job market in Dothan and how different skills and varying degrees are needed for our workforce.
“We are excited to be able to provide this information to students and their parents,” said PTO President Christy Browning. “Our goal is to get students thinking about what they will do once they graduate and for them to start researching those opportunities.”
For more information on the upcoming college and career information night, contact Christy Browning at [email protected] or call the school guidance department at 334-794-1400.
