DOTHAN: Last evening a Dothan icon, a gentleman, a successful businessman that when he told you something you could count on, and more important the definition of a great husband passed this life into heaven.
Mr. Richard Saliba, founder of Saliba Construction, who did commercial construction in Dothan and the wiregrass area passed away. A few weeks ago Mr. Saliba was at the Angel of Hope dedication.
Mr. Saliba built many commercial buildings over his career. Some include Flowers Hospital, Dr. Heersink's building of Eye Center South and many others. His company is currently building the Dothan - Houston County E-911 Center.
Over the years you would see Mr. and Mrs. Saliba eating lunch together. When Mrs. Saliba was struck being sick and confined to a wheelchair, you continued to Mr. and Mrs. Saliba eating lunch together. You would see Mr. Saliba patiently taking care of Mrs. Saliba helping her in the restaurant, in and out of the car, and waiting on her. Seeing them out he was the definition of a good man taking care of his wife.
Mr. Saliba was a good man and a icon that helped make Dothan what it is today.
Prayers are with the Richard Saliba family.
