Dothan Man Arrested and Charged with Second Degree Arson

On June 7th, 2014, at approximately 8:00 pm, the Dothan Police Department responded to a residential fire in the 100 block of Wembley Court. Upon the arrival of the first officer, there flames coming from the home and it was unknown if it was occupied or not. The officer on scene conducted a perimeter search of the home, and after looking into one of the windows, found the owner, now identified as Robert Tolleson, still inside. Tolleson was pulled from the home by that officer and a nearby civilian prior to the arrival of the Dothan Fire Department. Tolleson was treated for injuries sustained during the fire, before being transported to the Southeast Alabama Medical Center for further evaluation.
Members with the Dothan Arson Task Force responded to the home and immediately began an investigation into revealing the cause of the fire. Through preliminary investigations, it was determined the fire was not accidental. After further investigation, Robert Tolleson was identified as the person responsible for the fire and has now been taken into custody.
The Dothan Police and Fire Departments would like to recognize the civilian, Eddie Currie, and Officer Jason Arnette for the heroic actions they took in saving the life of Robert Tolleson.
- Robert Brandon Tolleson, white male, 37 years of age, Wembley Court was arrested and charged with second degree Arson. Bonds have yet to be determined.
All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
