Dothan Man Arrested for first Degree Burglary

On January 28, 2015 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following an assault complaint, which occurred in the 400 block of East Lafayette Street.
Investigators say Artavaris Martin forcefully entered a home where a family member was living and assaulted that individual while inside of the residence. During the attack, the home owner retrieved a knife and cut Martin. Martin fled the home, but was seen by individuals in the neighborhood who contacted the police. Martin was located a short period later at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries.
Artavaris Martin was taken into custody and charged with first degree Burglary. His arrest now brings this case to a close.
- Atavaris Martin, black male, 24 years of age, of Judson Street was arrested and charged with first degree Burglary. A bond amount has been set at $60,000.00.
