Dothan Man Charged with Burglary

On January 14, 2015 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following a recent burglary investigation.
Investigators say on December 16, 2014, Martavous Byrd forcefully entered a residence in the 400 block of East Lafayette Street and removed electronic items. Investigators also say Byrd unlawfully entered the vehicle of a friend and took an undisclosed amount of United States currency.
In both incidents, witnesses identified Byrd as the individual responsible for the crimes. Byrd has been charged with Burglary and Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. His arrest now brings these cases to a close.
- Martavous Ladarian Byrd, black male, 18 years of age, of Alabaster Drive was arrested and charged with third degree Burglary and Unlawful Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. Bond amounts have been set on both charges and total $20,000.00.
All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
