On August 12, 2014 the Dothan Police Department responded to 3071 Ross Clark Circle in reference to a theft in progress complaint.
Upon arrival, officers were told an unknown white male had been found inside of the victim’s passenger car as she visited with a friend. When the victim confronted the subject, he started the vehicle up and drove away. A description of the suspect and the victim’s vehicle were given to the other responding patrolmen when an individual matching that description was seen running in the 200 block of Honeysuckle Road. Officers attempted to stop the subject, but he continued to run. After a short foot pursuit, the subject was detained and identified as Justin Decker. A search of the area Decker was seen running from was conducted. During that search, officers located the victim’s car in the parking-lot of 3053 Ross Clark Circle.
Investigators say Decker was able to take the car after he located a spare key while rummaging through the vehicle’s compartments. Decker has been arrested and charged with first degree Theft of Property.
