Dothan Police Arrest man forThird Degree Burglary

On July 9, 2012 the Dothan Police Department responded to a report of a residential burglary in the 100 block of Bel Aire Drive. Upon arrival, police learned an alert neighbor called police after he saw the suspect leaving the victim’s residence in possession of numerous items taken during the course of the burglary. The witness gave brief chase during which numerous pieces of property were dropped by the fleeing suspect. Investigators responded to the scene and worked with witnesses to identify the suspect as Courtney Byrd. Investigators say a warrant for Byrd’s arrest was signed on July 9, 2012 and the suspect was located and arrested July 11, 2012 bringing this case to a close. · Courtney Byrd, black male, 18 years of age, of Silverado Drive was arrested and charged with Third Degree Burglary with a $15,000 bond.
