Dothan Police Has Been In Multiple Foot Chases - Just Apprehended One Suspect

DOTHAN:  Dothan Police Patrol Officers have been in multiple foot chases over the last few minutes. There were some burglaries in the Stonebridge area. Dothan chased several subjects.

Mooments ago Dothan Police Cpl. Carney spotted a suspect and foot chase started. Multiple officers chased the suspect and he was apprehended at  810 South Appletree Street. The subject was apparently tazed as officers called for Dothan Fire to respond emergency to the scene.

Dothan Police has called for additonal patrol units because of the crowd showing up, to inlcude family members of the suspect.

Matt Boster is on the scene and will udpate. All of the what they were chasing the suspect is not known.

A Houston County Sheriff Deputy has been involved in a accident at Lena and Franklin Street during this incident. Dothan Police are on the scene of the accident.

The incident is at Lena and Floyd Street in the 800 block. Apparently a Dothan Police Officer struck the suspect with the patrol car when he apparently ran out in front of the patrol car. The suspect recieved only minor injuries and was taken to the hospital.

Multiple suspects are on the street and tensions are running very high at this time.
