Dothan Police Make Arrest in Game Stop Theft

The Dothan Police Department made two felony and two misdemeanor arrests on August 10, 2011 in conjunction with an ongoing investigation. Police were working with a report of theft from Game Stop when the suspects attempted to strike again landing them both in jail on multiple charges. According to the criminal investigator a mother and daughter entered Game Stop, 4521 Montgomery Highway on August 7, 2011 and worked as a team to steal multiple game cartridges. The identity of the suspects was obtained by employees of Game Stop, 3255 South Oates Street when the items were brought in and sold. The employees turned the information over to investigators who were preparing to serve warrants on the pair, however before investigators were able to arrest them, they returned to original location and were caught trying to steal. Police responded and both were arrested and charged in both cases.
· Christy Barner, white female, 28 years of age, of Samson, Alabama was arrested and charged with two counts of Theft of Property, on felony count and an additional misdemeanor count with a bonds totaling $5,500.
