DOTHAN:   Dothan Communications dispatched Police Units to 115 Hibiscus Drive in Dothan in reference to a burglary in progress. Communications advised units there was a black male at the front door of the residence with a crow bar looking object, a bag and a flashlight. The front door is reported open and the black male subject inside the residence.

Multiple Dothan Police Officers rolled to the scene. Communications Division reported to the responding units a dark colored van was at the residence, the door had clsoed and the male subject was inside the residence. They also reported a possible female inside the van. As the units were rolling Communications updated both the male and female were walking around the outside of the residence.

As the units were nearing the scene Communications had checked the Dothan Utilities computer and the power had been cut from the residence for the past 3 days.

As the units entered the neighborhood several officers spotted the vehicle and stopped the vehicle being a dark colored KIA SUV. Other units rolled to the residence to check the residence while the officers had the suspects.

After the stop of the suspect vehicle and checking the suspects through the computer and the officers that checked the residence, it was determined not to be a burglary in progress. The call was changed to suspicious circumstances call and all units returned to service.

Apparently it was the people that lived in the house before Dothan Utilities cut the power off.
