Dothan Will Pay On Carney Today

DOTHAN:   Retired Dothan Police Chief Greg Benton terminated Dothan Police Cpl. ReaMonica Carney from employment as a Dothan Police Department. Following the termination Carney filed a lawsuit against the City of Dothan.


Dothan has their own legal department headed up by Freddie Len White. However the City of Dothan uses a Birmingham law firm, Maynard and Cooper.


Set at 10 AM today the Dothan City Commission will approve the expenditure of $ 11,887.20 to Maynard and Cooper for legal expenses in defense of the lawsuit by Carney. This is one invoice. We do not have what has been spent by the City of Dothan so far.


Also there is a lawsuit filed by former Dothan Police Captain Keith Gray against the City of Dothan. Benton also terminated Gray in actions not associated with Carney.
