Dothan Woman Charged with Second Degree Theft of Property

On August 13, 2014 the Dothan Police Department made a felony arrest following a recent theft investigation involving three individuals at a local clothing store.
Investigators say on August 8, 2014 Cecila Helms and two unidentified black females entered Belk’s Department Store and took over $600.00 worth of merchandise from the business without paying.
At the time of the incident, Helms identity was also unknown. A request for assistance in identifying the three subjects was made to the public and on August 13th 2014 Helms turned herself in at the Dothan Police Department.
Helms was arrested and charged with second degree Theft of Property.
- Cecila Tenila Helms, black female, 35 years of age, of Hedstrom Drive was arrested and charged with second degree Theft of Property. A bond amount has been set on each count and totals $2,500.00. All persons arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
