Dr. Jennifer Marsden, MD is running for Alabama State House District 93 against Rep. Steve Clouse (20 year there). She is an Army Veteran and a Family Doctor (Board-certified). She has not previously held or run for political office- new blood. She is married to COL Ronald King (Retired US Army, and also a medical doctor). She is endorsed by the unions, the Alabama Education Association, and got an A- rating from the NRA (the highest you can get before you hold ofice). Slogan- Good Medicine for the Wiregrass

She went to Harvard for college and University of Pittsburgh med. US Army officer over seven years including two overseas commands; made Major. She was stationed at Fort Gordon, Fort Bragg, and at Erlangen and Butzbach in Germany. Military decorations include the Army Parachutist Badge and Meritorious Service Medal.

After finishing her military career Dr. Marsden practiced medicine for military and rural families in Texas and was medical director at Pensacola Christian College in Florida. She worked as a doctor in England when her husband was stationed there.

Dr. Marsden's campaign slogan is Good Medicine for the Wiregrass. She believes in selfless servicetinyurl.com/marsden-service  . She has served America and the Army, her patients around the world and here in Alabama, as the doctor at the Slocomb Clinic and most recently serving Wiregrass veterans as the doctor at the Fort Rucker Veteran's Administration clinic. She now feels called to serve the Wiregrass by running for State House. She wants to be a citizen statesman: She will NOT become a career politician and has pledged to serve only two terms in the House. She feels strongly that legislators should not profit from their position.

She believes we can have a strong economy and high paying jobs tinyurl.com/marsden-economy   - an economy that works for all of us, not just the wealthy. Business incentives must have benchmarks and claw backs to ensure we get our money's worth when we use taxpayer money to create job subsidies. She wants to rebuild Alabama's strong middle class.

She believes in a quality education for every child tinyurl.com/marsden-education  in Alabama, based on proper funding for public schools and properly valuing and retaining our educators. She wants to safeguard the Education Trust Fund for our children and will fight taking from it by the Alabama Accountability Act and other bills. She supports an Education Lottery to keep lottery money in Alabama helping our students.

She believes in affordable medical care tinyurl.com/marsden-healthcare  for all Alabamans. She hates that some hardworking Alabama citizens have to choose between their health and paying their bills. As a practicing physician she has seen the effect of not having health insurance for her patients: veterans and other hardworking Alabamians. She supports expanding Medicaid, which would provide health insurance to 300,000 Alabamians including half of the uninsured veterans and their family members who don't have it now, and which would create up to 30,000 new jobs.

Dr. Marsden appreciates and values our military and our Veterans. She would work to reopen the 17 Veterans Service Office in Alabama which were closed in the last 4 years. Her service to the veterans at the Fort Rucker VA led her to run for office to fix issues at a highr level.
